Hellow Mahmoud

Dear Mahmoud,

It was great finding you on Facebook. It has been a while. You know after I graduated from college I got a job in Tokyo, I was there for a little over 2 years. I learnt Japanese and became a very good Judo player. I almost made the Olympics. And just as I was getting comfortable with the culture, I moved to Spain.   It was the best move ever, I lived there for 5 years, learned Spanish, met my wonderful wife. She and I traveled all over the world before we decided to move to England and start a family. I was getting jealous attending all my cousins and friends weddings and being invited to their family’s activities. Did you end up getting married to "the girl of your dreams" back home. You would have loved Spain, I go to a soccer match almost every weekend and sometimes twice a week. I have 2 kids, one is 4 and the other is 6 years old. I have a great house in London. You can stay with us if you would like to visit. I fly my airplane on the weekend or drive my convertible to the country. Both are so relaxing. The wife is into fashion design and the kids are usually busy with sport and music too. I need to do more sports, I am getting a little fat from eating all the fancy food we have in London.  I feel that these past 12 years were the best years of my life. What about you? What have you been up to?   I know you were always better student than me and more motivated than me.

Dear Nabil,

It is great to hear from you. I do not know if you knew, but after my scholarship in international business, I came back home. I was arrested by security forces and taken to an American military base in Afghanistan. I was traded for a bounty. I was then taken to Guantanamo Bay where I have been living for a while. We cannot do Judo here, but I picked waterboarding and getting good at it. We were going to compete against Abu Ghraib team, but some guy leaked some pictures and they lost their coach, so the tournament was canceled.   You should try the nose diet. I have been on it for the last 100 days or so. Boy do you loose weight. I am in fashion too. With one orange suite, I had the whole world watching me for 12 years, and did nothing about it, absolutely nothing. I am thinking of selling it on ebay. They tell me that they know stuff about me that no one else in the world knows, including me. But yet they do not know when and if I will be out of here. As soon as these shackles come off, I think I am going to try piercing. I am so used to the extra weight now, I do not think I can live without it. I cannot promise that I will come to London soon, but if you ever in Cuba, try to stop by.  Ask for 301, that is my nick name. I have been learning English form the soldiers, I think you will be impressed with my skills, you mother fucking towel head :).  Did I say that right?

PS. If you keep in touch with your folks back home, can you please find out if my father and mother are still alive?

In memory of all innocent prsioners in Guantanamo.
